Parkinson’s Disease is a neurodegenerative condition that affects the function of the basal ganglia, a part of the brain that is essential for normal movement. People living with Parkinson’s are often told they can’t slow down their deteriorating function. This is simply not true. In fact, with the right therapy, we can certainly slow down the disease process, and in some cases gain improvements in function and independence along the way.
